Great Wakering Evangelical Church is situated in the expanding village of Great Wakering which is located close to Southend-on-Sea, Essex.

The church is of a conservative, evangelical tradition and is a member of the Union of Evangelical Churches (U.E.C.). For more information regard-ing the UEC visit www.uec-churches.net

We are a small church in this growing village offering morning and evening Sunday services, Sunday School and a midweek Bible study/prayer meeting as well as Girls Brigade, Boys club, Coffee morning which are all attended by people from the local community. We also offer monthly out-reach activities for adults.

We long to see the church grow.

Persons skills and character qualities

We seek a pastor to take the responsibility of leading, teaching and equipping our church for personal spiritual growth and for outreach into the local community as well as taking an active role in outreach.

You should be able to demonstrate that you are:

• a committed follower of the Lord Jesus Christ
• an ability to preach and teach the Bible
• have a servant-leadership style and able to work well as a team mem-ber of the Leadership team
• able to engage with the local community in a friendly and approachable manner
• provide pastoral support
• uphold the character of 1 Timothy:3 and Titus
• accept the U.E.C. doctrinal basis and the U.E.C. ethos statement
